Ted is a Co-Founder of Level 5 Partners and serves as a Managing Partner and Executive Director for Level 5 Partners Life Sciences Venture Creation, Capital and Management Company.

Ted’s current role with Level 5 Partners is as a strategic advisor for the venture creation of the pharmaceutical technologies division and provides executive and Board management services for Level 5 Partners portfolio company Vanquish Oncology.

Ted has over 17 years experience establishing scientific strategy and directing innovative research as well as developing and commercializing technologies and products in the biotechnology industry.  Over the course of his career he has founded and helped secure funding for biotechnology companies, established, built and managed multidisciplinary R&D teams, developed both pharmaceutical and in vitro diagnostic products, created and managed intellectual property and led operations from product launch through early and rapid growth.  Ted’s experience includes serving as Vice President, Product Development and Operations at Tethys Bioscience, a venture backed company focused on creating multibiomarker-based products for chronic disease prediction, Director of the Biosecurity and Nanosciences Laboratory at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a 60 person R&D organization focused on translating basic science discoveries and capabilities into advances for biosecurity, founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Invenux Incorporated, a drug discovery and development company and has been a consultant to a number of companies including Replidyne, SomaLogic and Pacific Biopharma Group.

Ted received his B.S. in Chemistry from California Polytechnic State University, Summa Cum Laude, and his PhD in Organic Chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute.
